“Lost 45s” guest Andrew Gold has died of a heart attack at age 59. Known for hits like “Lonely Boy” and “Thank you for Being a Friend” (later the theme to “Golden Girls”), Andrew was Linda Ronstadt’s bandleader in the middle 70s and was also in the early 80s group Wax.

Joe Brooks, the songwriter responsible for "You Light Up My Life," a #1 mega-hit in the 70s for Debby Boone, has committed suicide at the age of 73. Brooks also wrote "If Ever I See You Again" which Roberta Flack took into the Top 40.
